Hey Guys! As you probably know (since I couldn't seem to quit talking about it in past posts), we are on vacation in Branson, MO for the week! We have been having a complete BLAST, plus some great relaxation time--yes, I took a nearly 4 hour nap the other day, so I'm definitely getting some good R&R. :D
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures on my computer to share with you or anything (if you want detailed posts about our trip, feel free to hop over to my momma's blog), but I have been updating tweeting throughout the day about all of the goings-on, so please follow me if you're not already. I love getting replies and will reply to any and all that I receive! :) Yay...I love my iPhone.
I was planning on going ahead and doing Short Answers today, but the day went by really fast and I didn't get a chance to ask my bro's any questions--So, take a week off to tell all of your friends to join in next week! It'll be awesome, I promise! ;)
Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond to all of your amazazing comments recently! I'll try and get caught up when I have some time, but we do try to keep our vacations as packed with spastic activities as we can--you should have seen us when we walked into Starbuck's yesterday--*happy sigh*--It was beautiful. You ever wonder why Starbuck's workers are so nice? I think I know--I mean, who wouldn't be like the happiest person in the world when there's coffee all around you all day long!?!?!? GAH!
Ok....better quit before I get my mind so hyper that I can't sleep. lol. I do that to myself too much. So, I'll leave you all now with much love.

I have to admit--this subject is an ironic one for me. I really don't like to be alone--I don't like the quiet, I don't like having no one to talk to; it seriously creeps me out! Because of that, I think the main activity that I engage myself in while I'm alone is making as much noise as I possibly can.
For instance...
A couple of weeks ago my whole family went to the zoo except for Jared and I--Jared was in his studio in a building behind our house. So, I was completely alone. At first I thought "Oh, how fun! Now I can do all of my 'alone time' stuff that mom always talks about!" Well, I guess it works for mom, but not so much for me. I sat down with a cup of tea and a book, and I couldn't even finish the first paragraph I dug into because I kept hearing things--the stairs creaking, the wind blowing through gaps in our pocket doors, the screen door slamming shut after being blown open, the dishwasher--every single sound in the house I was suddenly aware of.
So, what did I do? I ran around (literally ran to make more noise), blasted the loudest music I could think to put on, and stuck a movie on really loud at the same time. On top of my obnoxious singing, it was a very interesting scene. At the time, I didn't think about how it would look if my brother walked in the back door from his studio--lucky for me, he didn't. (Yay. :P )
All of that being said, if I could do aaaaanything I wanted with my alone time, and I didn't have to fight against my own insecurity with being all alone and lonely, I would probably....uhhhh....as lame as this sounds, sleep. GAH! I hate myself for saying that! Somebody please slap me!
Ok, now that you all think I'm a complete bum, let me set that in stone with a display of what I do with my time.
Yes...I spent my free time last week learning how to tear a phonebook in half. I'm still working on it--I've only worked up to half of a phonebook so far, but I'll let you know when I get a whole one! It's going to be epic, and I will be soooooo (awfully) proud of myself.
Enjoy!
P.S. There's still time to join in on Short Answers! Also, 1 more day to get on my waiting list for a blog makeover! Check out yesterday's post for more info.

First off, I would like to wish my brother, Jonas (a.k.a. Jo, Bo, Jojo, Bobo, bro, dude, Quinnster, etc.) a happy birthday! He turned 6 yesterday. We had our big, boisterous family out for pizza and some fun time for the evening. So, even though he can't read this--Happy Birthday Jonas!!!!! :)
Secondly, I wanted to let you all know that during the beginning of the school year I will be closing the waiting list on my design blog (until I have a steady routine going). So I will be accepting the first 3 people who ask for makeovers between now and Thursday! Make sure to email me if you want to get your very own blog makeover!
And now...
It's time for Short Answers! To join in, just ask the following 5 questions to the kid(s) in your life. Post their answers on your blog, then come back here and link up so we can read the brilliance of the child's mind!

Silas: Lova? Oh…that’s one.
Ok, what’s the other one?
Linda?
Uh…yeah. :P
Jonas: Um…Grandma….I have no idea. Grandma Lova? No…???
Yeah, that’s one. What about the other one?
Um…Grandma….I have no idea. What’s her name?!?!
You don’t know?!
Huh-uh. I know Grandpa John and Grandpa….*gulp*
Silas: Dogs and buns.
What kind of buns?
Uhhh…I don’t know. Dog buns?
Jonas: Paper.
Paper?
Mmhmm. *smile*
Silas: What’s arachnophobia?
I’m asking you.
I don’t know. I don’t think it’s anything.
It is something.
Ok, what is it?
It’s the fear of spiders.
I’m afraid of spiders!
Jonas: What is that?
You have to tell me.
Uhhhh…what again?
Arachnophobia.
Is it….something a type of animal?
Nope.
What is it!? Or I’ll shoot your computer!
The fear of spiders.
What! Spiders are on my list! Scary girls are on my list too.
Silas: Hmmm…I don’t know. Maybe no one.
Somebody did discover America.
Alaska?
No. It was Christopher Columbus.
Oh…almost like Christopher Walken!
Jonas: Chinese.
Silas: Change people into like monsters.
Why?
I don’t know…get strong and stuff! *hums heroic theme* …and carry stuff and do stuff like that….like the barn and our house.
Jonas: Build lightsabers and guns what are real lightsabers and guns…and rockets, and droids. Making droids…woohoo….for the real lightsabers and guns.

You know, I have all of these things that I think…When I was 8 I thought “Why would a girl want to get her hair cut short?” Then 6 months later, I got my hair cut short.
When I was 11 I thought “Why would a girl want to wear high heels? They look so uncomfortable!” but 6 months later I was wearing high heels.
When I was 12 I thought “Why would anyone want an iPod? It’s just a poor excuse for a bunch of CDs.” But for my 13th birthday, I got a 4gb pink iPod Nano.
When I was 15 I said “I’ll never be a phone person. The basics are all I need!” Well…..now I’m 16, and this is my confession…
I bought an iPhone.

Yup, you heard me right. A brand new, b-e-a-utiful 32gb iPhone 3GS. *sigh* That’s like a happy sigh…like a thrilled sigh.
So, now I’ll be able to keep you all updated on the happenings while I’m on vacation next week! I’ll post pics and videos to my twitter for you all to check out, and I’ll try to keep my blog updated too. Yay! I’m excited! Oh, and I promise you I will never be one of those "texters". ;)
On a random side note—I’m at home alone babysitting Harrison…right now he’s sitting on the floor drinking juice, eating rice crackers, and watching Camp Rock. Even though he can barely talk, he can seriously quote like this whole movie! lol. I’m telling you, the kid is brilliant.
HAHAHAHAHA! Ok, the movie just got to the most annoying song in the world, and Harry walked up to the sound system and turned it all the way down. High five, Harry!

What year were you born?
Mmhmm
IIII don’t really remember.
But what’s your guess?
Hmmm…I have no idea. I was born in 1920.
Why do people wear deodorant?
What would you buy if you had a million dollars?
What is a president?
Yeah.
The eagle. The American Eagle.
Where would you like to take your family on vacation someday?

I have the bestest idea in the whole wide world!
This morning I began brainstorming subjects for my next blog entry. I couldn't think of anything interesting, so I came up with the idea of asking my little bros some random questions and seeing what they say. The result was so hilarious, it gave me an awesome idea!

Kids always have something to say--whether it's comical, profound, or completely random, they've got an answer for everything! So, every week on Tuesday I will post 5 completely random questions for you to ask a child or several children (just make sure to identify whose answers are whose). They could be your own children, siblings, friends, etc. Write down their answers word for word and even have a little extended conversation with them if you want to add on (I can't help but ask clarifying questions). Then work up a post with the answers to the 5 questions and come back here to link your post to mine.
This could be so much fun! We all love hearing cute things come out of the mouths of kiddos, so here's our chance to prompt a few! ;) Here are my brothers' answers to 5 questions that I asked them.
What do you want to do when you grow up?
Why?
I don’t know, it’s just because…I don’t know, just a fun job. I like to eat there, and if I work there I’ll get to eat for free!
What kind of band?
A band doing music and showing people it….and rocking.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Why?
Bananas. And because you love it.
(Awwwww. ^_^)
Why?
Because it’s my favorite place in the world except for Heaven.
What's your favorite girls name?
Why?
I don't know. Random.
If your life was made into a movie, who would you want to play you?
Why in the world would you want Darth Vader?
I don’t know, he’s just cool and he has a lightsaber. Ya know? You know, he’s just kind of a cool guy.
A person bro.
Oh…I would pick Ernest.
Why?
Because of Ernest Scared Stupid. It’s hilarious!
What do you think is more important: Good looks or brains?
Why?
Because they’re like *hums jazz*.
(Oooooh my word.)
No, good looks or brains.
Oh. Brains.
Why?
Because brains make me smarter than just looking handsome.
We'll get started next Tuesday, August 18. Grab a button off of my sidebar and spread the word! What do you think?

My momma at Dancing Barefoot opened up her blog for links so that we can all get to know each other. I've done one of those "100 things about me" lists before, but what the heck...10 more wouldn't hurt! (Well, I hope not. heehee.)
2. I almost never cry at movies, but I cry during almost any book at some point or another. I've also cried at multiple songs.
4. If I have a good pair of shoes, I almost never buy another one until they're worn out. I don't like shoes.
6. I love HTML coding, and have my own blog design business, but I would love to learn how to create my own graphics someday.
8. I get fed up with drama extremely easily, but my negative responses to it are always dramatic.
10. If I think about yawning, or see someone yawn, I ALWAYS yawn. (I just did it to prove it.)
Now, I've been promising you all pictures of my freshly redone bedroom...it's a big change for me (the person who just realized she doesn't like change! I mean, when I started this project, the change was so overwhelming for me that I started craving foods that I ate a lot of several years ago--like hummus, canned jalapenos, and carob! ha!--but, I've gotten used to it, and I absolutely LOVE it now!
Before...

After!

Before...

After!

My old south wall pictures...

It's a big open wall, so I wanted to put something big, colorful, and fun in place of the old muted colors. Hence....

(He's my favorite!)
My "new" dresser...
Ok, so it's not new, but I painted it black, and added some silver, oval knobs, and it looks like a new piece!

See that awesome art piece over the dresser? I got that for $4 at the Salvation Army. I was so thrilled!
What I like to call my "violin nook"...

I really like this corner of the room, because everything is contrasted and amazing!
A closer look at the bottles on the table...

I got the red and blue bottles at a thrift store for 10 cents each, and the other one from a craft store for 50% off of $12. I love getting good deals. <3
A couple fun knick knacks...

Mom found this cool figurine at a garage sale. I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but there's something funky and free spirited about it that I love.

Also, a fun garage sale find. I'm using it for my violin music because my last violin bag had multiple coffee stains on it (I know...shocker).
Soooooo, that's about it. Thanks for enduring the long post!
1. I called the ability to procrastinate a blessing today.
3. My love language is words of affirmation--although, when I get them, I rarely know how to respond.
5. I'm still scared of going down water slides.
7. I absolutely LOVE it when people agree with me, but what I really wish is that I (and the world) would realize the importance of unconditional love.
9. I'm a bit of an Amy March (from "Little Women")...meaning, I make up my own words aaaaall the time, and even when I'm not trying to, I use words the wrong way extremely often.

And Monthly Monday Poetry is going to have to go. Sorry for those of you who wanted it to stay--I just don't think it's worth the effort to keep it up. I still want to read all of your poetry though! I just want you to write it when YOU are inspired to write it. So please stop by and leave a comment when you write something so that I can be sure to see it! :)
In other news: My room is finally finished!!! I absolutely love how it turned out! It's just tidy enough to feel contemporary and clean, but it's just "messy" (my mom would say "lived in") enough to feel like home. =) I'll share pictures soon, so stay tuned!
Most of you have by now heard of my other blog Imperishable Beauty. Since it's late, and I don't have anything profound or interesting to say, I would love it if you would head over and read my latest post"Flirting is one of those things that feels really good while you’re doing it, but afterwards leaves you with this pit in your stomach; a feeling of sickening dissatisfaction."
-"Guarding Friendships" Imperishable Beauty
I feel so incredibly blessed to have a momma who will pass her wisdom and experience on to me; I may not always listen immediately, but praise God she is constantly helping me and never gives up trying to get through my thick skull! :)

Granted, it's kind of long (and I know sometimes long posts are hard to find time for), but what I said really came from my heart, and I would absolutely adore you all if you would share your thoughts on it with me. :) My mom helped me a lot with the writing of this particular post--not with how the words flow, or what the contents hold, but by sharing with me the true gem of wisdom that God has implanted and manifested in her since she accepted Him around 19 years ago.

I've been thinking about canning the whole Monthly Monday Poetry idea. It seemed great at first, but I've found that when I'm in the mood to write poetry, the arrival of Monthly Monday Poetry is still far in the future--so I haven't seized the opportunity to write poetry at all when I feel in my heart like I should be writing it, and when I have to write it, I'm almost never inspired. Besides that, most of the time I only have 2 or 3 participants, so I just don't feel like it's a worthy investment. What do you all think?
Should I keep it?
Should I dump it?
Should I change it up? (If so, any ideas of how I can make it more interesting?)
Please give me your opinions. I'm open to any ideas that you guys have! After all, you're pretty darn smart. ;)
